We started out years ago as a building company doing general construction. After developing our own brand of pergolas and due to their popularity, we decided to concentrate our energies into just pergolas, providing three options - Curved Pergolas, Flat Pergolas and Custom Made Pergolas.
We serve the Bay of Plenty including Katikati, Tauranga, Mount Maunganui, Papamoa and Te Puke.
Our most popular product is our curved aluminium pergola, which we manufacture to a superior standard. Steve Tucker, the owner/operator of RCH Construction, has more than 30 years experience in the building trade and places great importance on the quality of work done.
Completing a job to the best of his ability is the secret of his success. Steve is a Licensed Building Practitioner.
Communication with clients is very important to ensure that all goes well. Please see our client testimonials on this page and the Home Page. You can be assured that Steve will always work with you to complete the job to his utmost best and to your satisfaction.
As a Licensed Building Practitioner with many years of experience, Steve is able to offer his skills and experience to his customers. Curved Pergolas (formerly known as RCH Construction) is a Licensed Building Practitioner, which is a government scheme to ensure that the quality of building work meets high standards set by the organisation. According to their website -
"If you’re thinking of getting building or renovation work done on your house or apartment, you need to check if it’s ‘restricted building work’ (RBW). If it is, you’ll need a licensed building practitioner – or LBP – to do it. Restricted building work involves the building’s structure, weather tightness, and design of fire safety systems.
Because this work is so important, it’s only allowed to be done by licensed building practitioners (LBPs). LBPs are assessed before getting licensed, and have to maintain their skills to keep their licence. Restricted building work, and the requirement to use LBPs to do it, was brought in on 1 March 2012 (through changes to the Building Act 2004)."
Steve communicates and works with clients from the start of the project to its completion and ensures every detail is covered satisfactorily.
Steve listens to what his customers want and communicates the best solution for their needs.
To get the job done, Steve also works with a team of qualified trades people on every aspect of the job to ensure the project is completed to the satisfaction of his customers.
We are thrilled with it. The standard of service an workmanship given was brilliant. We live in a very high wind zone at the top of a hill. We had our doubts as to wether the roof would stand the very high winds and storms we get, but Steve told us not to worry and that the Pergola would hold firm and he was absolutely right !

We are absolutely thrilled with the Pergola that Steve so ably built for us, well built, strong and a godsend, this pergola has provided much needed protection to our entrance and front door from the ravishes of the weather.
As well, can use this area as a sun porch, entertaining and relaxing, protected from the weather.
Thank you Steve - your pergola has been well and truly a blessing.

After seeing a Curved Pergola at a friends place, I asked Steve around to do a quote. I found Steve to be professional, communicated the different concepts clearly and stuck to the time frames he gave. Sandra sent the quotes and appointment times to me quickly. Knowing that Steve and Sandra are owner operators and not part of a franchise gave me confidence that my job was important to them.
